The Main conference is AIDS2012, it is a gathering of 25,000+ individuals working in different sectors all relating to HIV/AIDS.
The Youth pavillion is located in the Global Village at the Main Conference. It is a youth networking area that will hold sessions, speakers and special events for young people all week of the conference.
The Youth Pre-Conference is a affiliated event in collaboration with AIDS2012 Youth Programme and the Washington DC International Youth Force. It’s it is ideally a space for young leaders to learn more skills to advocate at the conference.

South Africa Plans for Zero New HIV Cases in 20 Years
South Africa’s Deputy President Kgalema Motlanthe said the government plans to lower the nation’s rate of new HIV cases to zero in the next 20 years. Motlanthe also said that the country aims to end preventable AIDS-related deaths and to fight against discrimination associated with HIV and tuberculosis. The country has set shorter-term goals of reducing HIV cases by half in the next five years.
Syringe Access Fund Gives Nearly $2M to 55 Grantees
The Syringe Access Fund (SAF), an organization that advocates nationally for syringe exchange programs, has awarded 55 grants totaling $1.98 million raised through a collaborative funding initiative, according to an SAF statement. SAF provides policy recommendations and grants to reduce the risk of HIV, hepatitis C and other blood-borne pathogens among injection drug users and their sexual partners. The joint funding initiative was led by the Elton John AIDS Foundation, Levi Strauss Foundation, Open Society Foundations, Irene Diamond Fund and AIDS Unit

The youth programme at the Pre-Conference will be all around the International AIDS Conference. We will have a pavillion in the Global Village that you can visit at any time. The Pre-Conference is a different thing that you will have to apply for.
